Hey — it’s nice to meet you! My name is Emanuel, but you can call me Manny. I am a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, and I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have been in the field of mental health for the past 7 years, working with people from different walks of life, from children to elder populations, across the gender and sexuality spectrum.
I’m super passionate about working with adult populations – individuals and couples, especially BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ identified people. I also like working with clients who are navigating anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions. I tend to utilize a insight-oriented approach because I enjoy helping clients explore why they think, feel, and behave the way they do and it shapes their interactions with others, the world, and themselves. I also like to dibble and dabble in other modalities, such as Narrative Therapy, The Gottman Method, CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Collaborative Therapy.
I view the relationship that I share with my clients as co-creative, allowing for us to build our therapeutic space together. I approach my clients with a curious, welcoming, and nonjudgmental energy, and I want every client that I work with to feel safe. I believe that my clients are the biggest driving force in their own success, and I’m super honored to be there to help them work towards their goals.
Overall, my belief is that we are all works in progress, and that the work is ongoing — we just have to be willing and committed to doing it. Even with years of experience, I’ll always admit that I’m still learning, and I cannot wait to work with and learn from you!
Outside of work, I love going to concerts, spending quality time with my partner, having fun and enjoying nights out with friends, playing board games and video games, watching anime, reading, trying different cuisines, and visiting my family back in Georgia.
If you think I’d be a good fit, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
