Emily is a compassionately curious human who enjoys sharing space with a variety of human beings. She values diversity and inclusion, two passions which drive her work. Within the therapy space, you can expect her to bring humility, wisdom, humor, and a non-judgemental attitude as she seeks to understand clients’ stories and experiences.

Emily works with adults and couples. She has a special interest in working with grief and loss, trauma, long-term illness, life transitions, and relational concerns. Emily carries previous experience as a social worker, case manager, and residential director, working with people from 13 to 96 years of age. She is passionate about social justice and actively works to create an inclusive, safe space for all people, no matter their gender, sexual orientation, political affiliation, race, ethnicity, religious or spiritual background, etc. She is responsive to client feedback and is flexible in her work with clients. Her space is fidget-friendly with comfortable furniture to accommodate a variety of possible needs. She also offers telehealth services. Her work is informed by Internal Family Systems, trauma-informed care, and feminist theory, and she takes a flexible approach to fit the needs of her clients. She offers a free, 15-minute virtual consultation to everyone prior to starting therapy to allow potential clients to get a feel for what working with her is like.

Outside of practicing psychotherapy, Emily is a musician, singer, and artist who enjoys attending festivals and concerts. She loves to explore culture through hearing folks’ stories and trying new foods. She values engaging in her neighborhood community and spending time in the outdoors with her family, including her dog, Maggie. Emily loves to laugh.

Emily is working under the licensed supervision of Eleanor Miller, LMFT while she pursues clinical licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist. She graduated from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota’s Graduate Program for Marriage and Family therapy in August of 2023.
