Hello and welcome! I am so happy you are here! My name is Nancy and I am a Master’s Level Clinical Intern, finishing up my degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary’s University. I have worked in K-12 education the past 6 years as Bilingual cultural liaison, connecting and guiding students and families to resources within their community. Beforehand, I worked with adults and children with disabilities, assisting them access school and career opportunities. I am especially passionate about helping others have support as they navigate the trials and tribulations life may throw their way.
I was born and raised in California, my parents are from Mexico, and I am a first generation college graduate that is bilingual in Spanish and English. I moved to Minnesota for my undergraduate degree and after a short period of moving back home to be with family, I moved back to Minnesota and pursued a role in education. I love working with kids and their families and my experience working with immigrant and diverse populations has allowed me to build positive relationships with many people. I hope to bring warmth, empathy, and compassion into our shared therapeutic space. I look forward to working with children, individuals, couples, and families. My areas of interest include anxiety, depression, attachment, parts work, polyvagal theory, and life transitions.
When I am not at work, I love spending time with my family, friends, boyfriend and our 3 cats. I absolutely love being a Cat mom! I also enjoy traveling, Salsa dancing, reading, and trying new restaurants.
