Lindsay is the type of therapist who is warm, authentic and real. She creates a space where you will feel seen, accepted and empowered to live the life you want to live. She definitely brings a sense of humor and fun to therapy but will also compassionately challenge you.
Lindsay is all about helping folks heal their relationship with their body, food and exercise. She loves working with folks on finding freedom from their eating disorders, disordered eating, Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S) or negative body image. Maybe you’re even in a place where you’re thinking I will always be like this or life can’t possibly be different. She gets it, she’s been there but here’s the thing: She is a firm believer that it IS possible to overcome whatever is holding you back even if you don’t fully believe it now. She is also so passionate about helping people with anxiety, self-worth, feelings of inadequacy, comparison and perfectionism.
Lindsay also loves working with coaches and athletes. As athletes, you can face a lot of challenges: trying to balance everything, performing in your sport, body image, relationships, anxiety, depression, no longer enjoying your sport and so much more. It can get better and Lindsay can help you with all that. Or maybe you’re doing great mentally and want to take it to another level. Lindsay can help with that too. If you are a coach, Lindsay would be thrilled to consult with you individually or come talk to your athletes about mental health and sports, athletic performance or disordered eating/RED-S.
So how does Lindsay support folks? She incorporates ideas from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Sports Psychology and is trained in CBT-E (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Eating Disorders). She also talks a lot about how culture, society and systems of power can influence how we view ourselves. Being a lifelong learner, Lindsay is always taking a look at the latest research to inform her practices. She is HAES-aligned, trauma informed and supports folks of all backgrounds.
On a personal note, she is married, has two dogs and twins (a boy and girl), loves running, all things outdoors, watching Netflix, coffee, and ice cream.
