Lydia Scroggins

Masters Level Intern

St Paul

Hi, my name is Lydia, and I’m an MSW intern from the University of Minnesota. I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable showing up as your full self, without judgment or the expectation that you need to have everything figured out. My approach is warm, curious, and collaborative and I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you as we explore your experiences, recognize your strengths, and discover what meaningful change looks like for you.

Before joining Down to Earth, I spent much of my career supporting people with disabilities, families, and community organizations. I have worked with people navigating life transitions, employment, disability, and systems that can sometimes feel overwhelming. These experiences have shaped my person-centered, strengths-based approach and reinforced my belief that our well-being is deeply connected to our relationships, identities, and the environments we move through.

In the therapy room, I value curiosity, authenticity, and humor. Therapy can involve sitting with difficult experiences, but I also believe there should be room for connection, laughter, and simply being human.

Outside of coursework and the therapy room, I find connection, balance, and joy by playing music with friends, training for my next triathlon, and hanging out with my dog.
