Hello! My name is Assoh, and you can also call me Glow. I recently graduated with a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St Mary’s University, and I am currently working toward licensure. I have worked in human services for over 7 years and in the mental health field for the past 6 years. My professional experience has offered me a holistic understanding from mental health challenges to medication management.

I am originally from Cote d’Ivoire in West Africa, though I grew up in Bloomington, Minnesota. Given my origin, I am bilingual in French and English. As a first generation, I take a lot of pride in the duality and the complexities of my identity. I also recognize the hardship that comes with immigration and would love to support families and individuals who may identify as such. Whether you are a refugee, an international student, or a person who immigrated to the US, I would like to become the safe space in which you can share a piece of your previous home while you navigate your new world.

I am equally passionate about working with people of diverse cultures and identities. In a world that can be unkind, I hope to create a therapeutic space in which clients feel free to be their unapologetic selves. I do not think that there is healing or growth without safety and authenticity, so I look forward to learning about your story. It is my privilege to have the opportunity to collaborate with you in your personal journey of life. I will learn with each client and welcome feedback. We will have a therapeutic space that honors respect, diversity, acceptance, conflict, individuality, community, social justice, and hope. I strive to leave people feeling more empowered after every interaction, for we often need the reminder that we are more than capable to create the life that we desire.

I enjoy working with couples, families, individuals, and children. As I grow in my training, I hope to work with people from all walks of life as well as with different systems. My role as a therapist will be to be present with my client in a way that is empathetic and celebratory. A session will always be your time to be and explore what is most relevant and important to you at the time. All your emotions and thoughts will be welcomed and valued. You can expect me to welcome you with a smile. You can also expect me to be open, curious, and direct as I believe that will allow us to progress in our work together.

Outside of work, I love baking desserts from all over the world. Whether I am making a Tres leches, Nutella crepe, or decorating cake pops, it is my self-care and opportunity to be creative. I also enjoy spending time with loved ones and exploring different cultures through traveling and trying new restaurants. Summer is my favorite season, though I also enjoy hiking in the fall to witness the beautiful colors change.
