Maria is currently a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in Counseling and Psychological Services at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She has spent seven years working in the mental health field at a residential treatment center for youth where she supported adolescents and their families in finding hope and healing. This experience nourished her deep desire to hold space for others.
Maria’s approach is gentle and warm, and she desires to engage in collaborative and creative processes. Curiosity, humility, and empathy will guide her work with you. She believes intentional relationality is imperative to who we are as humans and that therapy can invite us into exploring meaningful connection with ourselves and others. She aims to provide a safe space for individuals to share their experiences, navigate distress, explore ways to manage stress, and experience belonging. Maria has particular interest in working with individuals who are encountering anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship challenges, and depression.
Outside of Down to Earth Therapy, Maria loves to spend time hiking and camping, creating art, exploring her neighborhood with her dogs, and making meals with her loved ones.
