As a Marriage and Family Therapist, my therapy style is to create a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where we can explore the issues you would like to work on together. I strongly believe in the healing that can come through a trusting therapeutic relationship. I have experience working with issues related to trauma, shame, depression, anxiety, life transitions, family and relationship conflicts, surviving childhood sexual abuse, addiction, and personal development of the self to name a few.
I come to this work with a rich background of life experience and professional training. I have been married for more than 35 years and have raised 2 adult children. Personally, I have benefited from the life-changing process of psychotherapy, working hard over my lifetime to heal from the effects of adult child of alcoholic issues, trauma and shame. I have gained wisdom from life experiences, successes and failures, all of which have proven to be helpful resources as I meet with people in the context of therapy. I have a personal passion for women, women’s issues, and for couples, including couples who are considering separation and pre-marriage counseling.
My experience includes working for two years as the Employee Assistance Program On-Site Therapist for the Minneapolis Public School District. I also worked at Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge doing individual and family therapy in addictions treatment. I am certified in Prepare- Enrich for pre-marriage/relational counseling. I would be honored to journey with you in your process of healing and growth.
In my free time, I enjoy gardening, decorating, exercising, and laughing while hanging out with friends and family.
